Weekend Pick now shows Friday afternoon's forecast for the drive out, and tells you when the weather is similar across the area. Plus small fixes.
Weekend Pick and "Looks good" are now AI-powered. An AI model judges each day's forecast, after built-in safety checks for storms, heat, wind, and smoke. Forecast cards now say "Looks good" on the days that check out, favoring the weekend. Weekend Pick is easier to find: it greets you on weekends and when the map is empty. The Thursday heads-up now reaches everyone who turns it on, and invites you to check Weekend Pick when none of your places look good. Also: drive time in one tap, fixed alert time windows, and smaller fixes.
A better first trip. The map now opens on your part of the world, even before you share your location. When you're choosing between two places, WeatherRoam suggests adding a third to compare. Drive times on iPhone now come from Apple Maps, and you can choose full notifications for the weekend heads-up. Plus the app handles slow connections better.
A heads-up for your weekend. WeatherRoam can now send one notification on Thursday evening when a place you checked looks good for the weekend. It uses places already on your map, comes at most once a week, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings. Also new: the launch screen now matches the app icon, plus stability updates behind the scenes.
Search has more room for place names and results, and the starting-place control is easier to tap. Severe weather alert times now show in the destination's local time. Screens fit better when you use larger text sizes. On iPad, forecast cards now stay attached to their pins when you rotate the screen. Forecast cards stay in place after you change your trip's starting point. Settings now shows your app version, handy when you contact support. Better reliability and error reporting behind the scenes.
Alerts now follow your destination, not your device. Severe weather alerts are grouped by the day it is at the stop they cover, so a warning for a place in another time zone no longer lands on the wrong day of your trip. Outside the US, alerts also name the region they were issued for. Two smaller fixes: the sharing prompt no longer reappears after you leave the app and come back, and shared trip links open reliably when WeatherRoam is already running in the background.
Two fixes, one for trips you plan and one for trips you share. Reordering a stop now keeps your days in order. Moving a stop earlier moves its day with it, so your itinerary always reads in the order you will actually drive it. Shared trip links open more reliably. If WeatherRoam was already open in the background, tapping a link could show an empty map instead of the trip. That is fixed.
WeatherRoam now opens straight to the map. There is no walkthrough to read first, and no location request before you have seen anything. Tap any spot or search for a city to get a forecast right away. WeatherRoam asks for your location only when you use something that needs it, such as centering the map on you or working out drive time from where you are. Also in this release: Forecast cards without a starting point now offer to add one, right where the drive time appears. Use your location or search for any city. After your first forecast loads, WeatherRoam suggests adding a second destination so you can compare them side by side. Shared trip links now draw the full route correctly when the app opens from closed.
Trip-planning fixes: stops without a day assigned no longer draw into your route, and on-screen tips no longer overlap.
A fresh new look: a road trip app icon and matching splash screen. Plus trip planning polish: cleaner compact pin cards while planning, drive times for every leg, and clearer forecast availability for far-out stops.
