• The phase lengths are free now: 5 to 90 minutes of work, 1 to 15 for the short break and 5 to 60 for the long one, set on a wheel. • “Start Tomatino” and “Pause Tomatino” run from Spotlight, the Shortcuts app and Siri, even with Tomatino closed, and in Shortcuts the start can take a work length. • Tomatino now also speaks French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
The buttons now sit in a toolbar at the bottom of the screen, so Reset phase takes every tap, and Reset cycle stays available after a phase reset. A setting changed on your Mac no longer makes Tomatino quit. After iOS closed Tomatino in the background, the music pauses in breaks again and resumes where it stopped. A music folder whose files are still in iCloud now plays.
When Tomatino plays a folder of your own files, the lock screen and Control Center now name the track that is playing. They used to show the one before it.
The app icon is drawn for the size it actually appears at. On the home screen the dial reads as a dial instead of blurring into a grey ring, and the card on the lock screen got the same treatment.
After a session that ended while the app was in the background, the card said the break had ended. It names the session now. A Live Activity that iOS ends by itself after eight hours counted as if you had swiped it away, so no card appeared for the rest of the cycle. Apple Music could start playing in a break you had just asked for, when the pause arrived while the queue was still loading. A playlist corrected during a running session starts the music again instead of waiting for the next phase.
A Live Activity you swiped away used to come back at the next phase change. Swiping it away now holds until the timer is idle. The Start button is readable again in dark mode: it carried the lighter phase colour, which left its white lettering short of the contrast it needs. Fixed: the reset button offered a menu whose entries did nothing while there was nothing to reset, and is greyed out in that state now. The pulsing ring around the session dots ignored Reduce Motion and kept going for a whole phase. The card about an unreachable music folder stayed after you switched sources. And settings arriving from another device are applied correctly after a change of iCloud account.
