Show them highlighted in the text, add your own words, or turn off any built-in one. Text Workflow 3.3: keep the words that matter, plus seven new actions. • Marked text: select words in Input and choose Mark Selected Text. With Keep marked text, the workflow changes everything except the marked words. With Change only marked text, it changes only them. • Show Invisible Characters: see the hidden characters in pasted text, like no-break spaces and zero-width spaces, as tags such as [NBSP] and [ZWSP], with a list of what was found. • Compare Lists: see what is only in one list, only in the other, or in both. • Convert Units: km and miles, kg and pounds, °C and °F, cups and spoons, areas and data sizes, right in your text. • URL Parser: split a link into its parts, with one line per query parameter. • For developers: Number Base Converter (decimal, hex, binary, octal), Generate Hash (MD5 and SHA) and Generate Password. • Convert Case adds snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, dot.case and URL Slug. • Encoder and Decoder adds backslash escapes, for JSON strings and code. • Extract Text finds numbers, IP addresses, hashtags, mentions and colors, and can sort the results. • Cleaner options: menus stay on one line and rows fit the screen, with labels like in Settings.

Text Workflow 3.2: clean up any text, from one line to whole files. • Open text, Markdown, JSON, CSV, RTF and other files from the Files app or the share sheet. The Share extension takes text files too. • New actions: Fix PDF Text joins broken lines and hyphenated words and removes page numbers from text copied out of a PDF. Clean Links removes tracking from links. Normalize Unicode fixes look-alike characters. • Favorite actions: star the actions you use most, and they come first in the Actions list. • Try a built-in example for most actions, and save your own sample input for each workflow. • Very large text is now fast to type, run and see. • Better data actions: XML and JSON both ways, JSON and YAML both ways, and Beautify JSON and XML with new options. Invalid input now shows where the problem is. • Dozens of new options. Sort Lines sorts in reverse and by number value, Remove Duplicates can ignore case, and Replace Text can match whole words only. Date Converter reads Unix time and writes ISO 8601, Encoder and Decoder adds Hex and HTML entities, and Insert Date can add days and use another time zone. • Fixes across the actions: Windows line breaks and the last line break are kept, Convert Case handles Greek and words like NASA, Strip HTML keeps paragraphs, and Math Calculations reads ^ as a power. Errors from online actions now stop the workflow instead of replacing your text.

Text Workflow 3.1.1: fixes and polish. • Break Lines: a new “Don't split words” option keeps words whole when you break after a number of characters, and “after every word” keeps words like “don't” and “e-mail” together. Much faster on long text. • Smart quotes: inch marks like 5" now become 5″. • Remove Line Breaks adds a space between joined lines, so they no longer run together. • Other fixes and improvements.

Text Workflow 3.1: make your own text tools. • Run Script: write a few lines of JavaScript and they become your own action. Use it in any workflow and in Shortcuts. It runs on your device, offline. • 8 ready-made templates to start from, like Roman numerals to numbers, Reorder CSV columns and Title Case, plus a JavaScript Basics guide. • Open your script in a big editor and see the result as you type. • Sort Lines can now sort by a word (the 2nd, the 3rd and so on), by the text after a space, or starting at any character. • Small fixes and improvements.

Example: 10.000,00 -> 10,000.00 On Convert Case to Title Case action, you can now set a list of words with custom capitalization. This way you set the capitalization for words like iPhone, iPad, etc. This version also improves the title case algorithm. Renamed Shortcut action to “Transform Text with Workflow”. The old name (“Transform Text” ) could conflict with shortcut action of another app (probably a Shortcuts bug).

New text transformation action: "Straight to Curly Quotes" Converts straight quotes and apostrophes to their curly counterparts (smart quotes). You can also convert curly quotes to straight quotes.
