◆ A FRESH BREEZE IS BLOWING THROUGH JOMO! ◆ Hope you’re having a great summer and taking some time for yourself — and away from screens. On our end, we’ve been busy! We took advantage of these sunny days to rethink the Jomo experience and give its design a refresh.
 To celebrate Jomo’s upcoming 3rd birthday (yes, already!) we wanted to spend some time refining its identity and design. A cool product is great — but a cool and beautiful one? Even better. ◆ A NEW DESIGN FOR THE HOME SCREEN ◆ The interface is now cleaner and more modern. Your screen time data is split into two sections. At the top, you’ll still find your hour-by-hour breakdown. To make things even easier, we brought notifications and activations directly onto the main screen (tap on the values to filter, just like before). We also added a new metric: “Decrease” so you can instantly see how you’re progressing with Jomo! In the second section, you’ll find your most used apps — just like before — but with a few small tweaks to make the experience even more pleasant. ◆ A SIMPLIFIED PROFILE ◆ This was one of the oldest parts of the app, so we gave it a solid clean-up and simplified how data is displayed. We merged the two previous sections into one (for now!). The Progress section is now easier to understand and puts your personal achievements front and center — so you can clearly see how Jomo supports your daily life. The Screen Time section has also been redesigned to highlight your efforts. ◆ RULE IMPROVEMENTS ◆ We’ve updated the rule detail view. Jomo now shows you a short summary of each rule so you can quickly understand what it blocks, whether it’s active or not, and more. Helpful if you’re ever feeling lost! We also made tweaks to Limits and Actions. Navigation could feel a bit cluttered, so we simplified the way you choose which type of Limit or Action to use. ◆ INTRODUCING EXTRA TIME ◆ This new feature is available on all limits. Here’s how it works: once you hit your limit, you can unlock a bit more time — but only if you complete specific actions (like running, walking, etc.). This feature replaces the old "Dynamic Limits". ◆ BUG FIXES IN THIS RELEASE ◆ - Excluded Screenshots and EyeReliefUI from screen time reports - Fixed an issue where the blog section wouldn’t update - Fixed NFC tag scanning on the latest iOS - Fixed a mismatch between daily and weekly total screen time We also updated our existing help articles and added new ones. ◆ EMERGENCY MODE JUST GOT A MAJOR GLOW-UP ◆ You asked, we listened—and made Emergency Mode way more flexible (and a lot smoother to use): - You can now unlock it in two ways: by typing a random code or using a 4-digit passcode. - The passcode can be set by someone you trust (like your accountability buddy, or maybe your cat? Just kidding. Sort of.) - If you go the random code route, you can set the length—but only increase it, not shrink it. (Gotta keep things challenging!) - Once unlocked, you can now disable Strict Mode with a single tap. No more deleting entire rules. - And good news: your Emergency Mode settings now sync across all your devices. (Mac support is on the way!) ◆ UNLOCK YOUR APPS WITH A QR CODE OR NFC TAG ◆ Hey everyone! With this update, distracting apps and websites can remain blocked until you scan a physical key, such as a QR code or NFC tag. Leave this key at home, the office, the gym, or even grandma’s house—just like the distractions! Your phone stays in zero-distraction mode until you return to this object. Now, you can keep work at work or leave Instagram behind, for good. Two ways to use the “QR Code” or “NFC Tag” feature on Jomo: * New Action Rule: Use your QR code or NFC tag as a key to unlock your apps (Rules > + > Action > Scan First). It’s simple: link your key to a rule and lock your apps. To access them, you’ll need to scan the key! * New Break Type: Use a QR code or NFC tag as a key to temporarily unlock your apps (Breaks > Friction > QR Code / NFC Tag). Health Goals are Jomo's brand-new feature that encourages you to reach a specific activity goal to unlock apps. Most meditation apps (Petit Bambou, Calm, Headspace, etc.) automatically add mindful minutes to Apple Health after each session. Yet 1.4 billion people fall short. Worse still, according to CDC, three out of four American adults are not getting enough exercise. Two and a half hours a week may sound like a lot, but when compared to the 35 hours a week the average person spends on their phone, it's easy to see why we've become so sedentary. It's time to restore the balance! In this new version, we're excited to announce the release of the most requested feature ever on Jomo: screen time rules linked to your physical activity. You read that right—we're introducing two brand-new types of conditions that integrate with Apple Health: * Health Goals: Reach a certain health goal to unlock apps. For example, walk 5000 steps to unlock your favorite mobile game. Go to Rules > Conditions > + > To Unblock > Health Goals to try them. * Dynamic Limits: It's simple — The more you exercise, the more time you unlock on certain apps. For example, you can start your day with 10 minutes of Instagram. Every 500 steps you walk earns you an extra minute. This is 100% customizable.
