- Fixes an issue where Homie would crash when executing automations (sorry for that!). - Now displays the app version number in Settings. - You can now launch the Home app from Homie‘s menu bar item.
- Adds support for grouped accessories (grouped accessories are now treated like one accessory, can be pinned to the menu bar and can be controlled simultaneously). - Fixes an issue where pinned accessories couldn’t be removed after their name was updated. - Uses a new way to identify assigned scenes in automations if HomeKit decides to change the UUIDs from time to time.
- Fixes a problem where devices could disappear from the menu bar after a restart of the computer. This is an issue with inconsistent identifiers being provided by the HomeKit Framework. I have now implemented a workaround using the name, room, and house of the accessories to re-identify them, whenever their identifier changes. - Deleted scenes are still provided by HomeKit, that’s why I decided to stop displaying scenes without any triggers (= no devices assigned to that scene). This should fix a problem where deleted scenes would still be displayed by Homie. - Whenever the computer goes to sleep, no HomeKit updates are delivered to Homie (I assume to save energy). That‘s why Homie will reload all deices when your computer becomes active again. Before it could happen that a wrong state of an accessory would’ve been displayed. - Fixes a problem where a device would be displayed as “not supported” even though it was compatible with Homie. Thanks a lot for using Homie! Personally, Homie is one of my favorite apps to develop & to use myself. That‘s why I‘m always happy to hear your feedback, suggestions, and ideas to improve it even further.
If you like Homie, you can now get Homie stickers via the main Homie Menu Bar icon which will be shipped internationally.
- Adds color picker so you can now change the color of your HomeKit light bulbs. - Fixes an issue where Homie could crash unexpectedly after using it for some time.
This update of Homie resolves an issue where pinned sensor values in the menu bar would not be refreshed automatically whenever new sensor values are available.
- Attempts to fix an issue where Homie wouldn‘t launch when started. - Favorites are now alphabetically sorted again. Also new in the last version if you haven't seen it so far: - You can now use a slider to change the settings of thermostats and air humidifiers. - Icons can now be assigned to pinned menu items. - Accessories can now also be added as favorites.
- You can now use a slider to change the settings of thermostats and air humidifiers. - Icons can now be assigned to pinned menu items. - Accessories can now also be added as favorites.
You can now use a slider to change the brightness of lights. This was quite a lot of work, requiring changes in many parts of the Homie architecture. Please continue to send feedback for new devices and features to add. For those of you who are interested, the technology behind Homie utilizes the new HomeKit Framework in Big Sur which is available via Mac Catalyst. However, Catalyst Apps cannot be Menu Bar Apps. Only AppKit apps can be. Thats why Homie is a Catalyst app which bundles an AppKit App. Quite complicated, but it works!
- Added German Localization: Herzlich Willkommen bei Homie! - You can now control window shades (open / close). - Resolves a problem where the Homie Upgrade Dialog would be displayed twice.
Adds new quick menu feature to turn on and off all lights in one room. Resolves an issue where some sensors wouldn't get updated, or some commands were delayed to be delivered to the devices. This also reduces the CPU usage for larger HomeKit setups and should prevent crashes in general.
- Ensures that Homie is only installable on macOS 11 Big Sur, because earlier versions of macOS don‘t offer the necessary HomeKit framework. - Added a lifetime-purchase option for Homie.
Homie 1.0.2 adds some of the most requested features from the first weekend after the release. Thanks a lot for your support, supporting Homie via the paid subscription makes such updates possible: - Sensors are now listed in their appropriate rooms. - Upgrade screen is now fully readable on smaller screens as well. - CarbonDioxideLevel and CarbonMonoxideLevel sensor values are now displayed as expected. - Updated screenshots, so the text is more readable. - Scenes, Sensors, and Rooms are now alphabetically ordered. - Sensor values now also update automatically. - You can now control light accessories as well & pin them to the Menu Bar. - You can now also pin rooms & homes to the Menu Bar directly. - Homes, rooms, scenes, and accessories are now sorted alphabetically. - Homie now indicates when an accessory is not reachable in the current network conditions. - New automations added: Execute scene when computer wakes up while an external screen is connected; and execute scene when computer goes to sleep while an external screen is connected.
This update also fixes an issue when no HomeKit permissions have been granted so far. Sensor values (Temperature, Humidity, Air-Quality Related measurements) can now be pinned to the menu bar directly. This means, you can read the temperature with one glance.
