My CarPlay app is a huge hit! This update adds a bunch of improvements and tweaks, plus a few bug fixes. - Open my iPhone app while my CarPlay app is active to search for an address (or a contact) using the iOS keyboard. - I will now orient the map in the direction your car is driving. (And I added a "north up" toggle to my settings screen.) - The current weather now always displays below your location, even when you're not navigating. - While navigating, there's a new "route overview" button so you can toggle between a zoomed-in view and an overview of your entire drive. - I will no longer speak during a phone call. --- Version 6.2 Release Notes Winter is in full swing, meatbags! My Maker wouldn't know it, though, because I've kept him chained up working on new features and bug fixes after the release of my big version 6.0 redesign. - Added a data point picker to the Apple Watch app's Hourly Forecast tab. - Tapping watch face complications will now open the Apple Watch app to different screens (with the appropriate data point selected). - Tapping data points on the Current Observations tab of the Apple Watch app now switches the app to the Hourly Forecast tab with that data point selected. - Added 2 new secret locations. (Premium required.) Improved Rain Alerts Receive server-side push notifications when rain will start *or* stop. Not only are rain alerts more timely, but you can also set a minimum delivery interval if you’d like to receive updates more (or less) often. Improved Location Details View monthly averages for a location in the Location Details screen. (Premium Ultra required.) Locations List Forecasts View forecasts for up to five of your favorite locations on the Locations screen. Just open a location’s details screen to toggle its forecast, and also customize forecast length, display style, and an additional data point. (Premium Ultra required.) New Layout Sections Add Solar, Moon, Air Quality, Pollen, or Tide sections to your layouts. (Premium or Premium Ultra required for some sections.) Tab Bar Customization Rearrange the order of my tab bar items from the Layout screen. (Special bonus: The first tab bar item becomes the default starting screen on fresh launches of the app, so you can, for example, make me default to opening straight to Maps.) Wintry Mix Support in Maps My new maps launched last month with support for just the rain and snow precipitation types, but now you can see wintry mix on the radar and future precipitation map layers. New Radar Station Product Use the Correlation Coefficient product to identify hail and tornadic debris in severe storms. (Premium Ultra required.) But wait, there’s more! - Added a few new secret locations. - Redesigned the location details screen. - Updated design for the Daily Forecast’s horizontal chart style. - Updated the map legend to show snow and wintry mix in addition to rain. - Updated the Weather tab’s Maps section and the Apple Watch app’s maps screen to use the new map styles and radar data. - The sunrise/sunset details screen now tells you when Daylight Saving Time will begin or end. - Added World Meteorological Organization definitions to the glossary for the different levels of wind speed. New Map Styles Choose from 6 gorgeous new map styles that strip away distractions so you can focus on what really matters: the data layers on top. Includes support for both Round and Flat Earthers. Individual Radar Stations View individual U.S. radar stations, just like a real meteorologist! Individual stations update more frequently and show significantly more detail than the stitched-together mosaic that covers the entire country. Professional meteorologists use this high-quality data for everything from telling rain apart from snow to deciding when to issue tornado warnings, but the good news is you don’t need a meteorology degree to take advantage of everything these stations have to offer. (Premium Ultra required.) Forecast Map Layers See up to 48 hours into the future with map layers like precipitation, temperature, wind, and more. (Premium required.) Inspector Tool You won't need to scrutinize a map legend to guess how strong a storm is anymore - now you can use the all-new Inspector tool to display the exact values of the data that appears on the map! (Premium Ultra required.) Map Presets Presets group relevant map layers together, making it easy to quickly switch between them without having to turn a bunch of layers off and on. Smart Zoom Zoom in to display radar, zoom out to display a short-term forecast, and zoom even further out to display an extended forecast. Zooming also automatically adjusts layer opacity and animation speeds. Map GIFs and Screenshots Make all your social media pals jealous of the superstorm that's heading right for your house - just tap the Share button on the Maps tab to send out a screenshot or an animated GIF!
