Padlok's actions now sit where you go looking for them, and two of them are new. FIVE ACTIONS, NO ASSEMBLY Open Padlok in the Shortcuts app and they are waiting: open an address, read its codes back, show its QR code, get its share link, or scan a new code. Each one asks which address when it runs. SHOW A CODE, SCAN A CODE Two new ones. Show an address's QR code to hand it to somebody standing next to you. Scan a code to take a new address in, without opening the app first. THE CODES, ON SCREEN Asking for a summary used to hand back text with nowhere to put it. It draws the address's card now — the codes, the building, the floor — the same card an arrival notification shows, and it still never reads them out loud. ALL OF THEM IN SPOTLIGHT Every address you allow in suggestions is searchable now, not only the ones you have opened before — by its name, or by the street it stands on. Your door codes stay out of the index, as they always have. Turn “Show in suggestions” off and an address leaves search properly. SAY IT A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY The spoken phrases are shorter now: “What's the Padlok code”, “Open an address in Padlok”, “Get a Padlok link”. Siri asks which address after. Plus a quieter fix: hitting the free limit now says so, instead of asking you to pick another address.
Padlok is now where you go looking for it: your addresses turn up in Spotlight, and Siri answers for them out loud. FOUND IN SPOTLIGHT Search a street or a town from the Home Screen and your addresses come back with it. Your door codes never do — the index carries the street, the town and the location, and nothing that opens a door. An address you've turned "Show in suggestions" off for stays out of it altogether. JUST ASK Four things you can say now, without building a shortcut first: • "What's the Padlok code for Mom's?" • "Open Mom's in Padlok" • "Send me the Padlok notification for Mom's" — the codes land on your Lock Screen instead of being read out loud in a crowded elevator. • "Get the Padlok link for Mom's" READY FOR APPLE INTELLIGENCE On iOS 27, an address handed to Padlok from another app opens straight on the right card.
A tidy-up after the big 2026.1 release. Premium now shows you what it gives you before what it costs, and Restore tells you whether it actually found anything. If Indie App Santa gave you Padlok, that's spelled out on screen at last. Tags can be deleted straight from the filter, and adding an address is easier to spot. STILL NEW IN 2026.1 • Addresses group themselves into places, and the filter is a panel of badges. • Arrival notifications can keep their own hours and their own area. (Premium) • QR codes work with no signal at all. • Built for iOS 26.
Padlok's biggest release yet: your addresses group themselves into places, arrival notifications keep hours, and QR codes work with no signal at all. PLACES Addresses group themselves by town, and the filter can narrow to one of them. The map opens on the area you're standing in instead of framing the whole country. A long press renames any place or tag. A FILTER YOU CAN READ The filter is a panel now: how many addresses come through it up top, every tag, place and pin as a badge below. Tap a badge to include it, tap again to exclude it — no more hidden swipes. NOTIFICATIONS THAT KNOW WHEN AND WHERE An address can carry its own hours and its own area: no buzzing from the office at the weekend, and a circle you can drag and size to the building rather than the street. (Premium) QR CODES WITHOUT A SERVER A Padlok code now carries the address itself instead of a link to it — so it works with no signal on either end, for every address, and leaves nothing behind on a server. Scanning uses the whole camera, focuses up close, and tells you when a code isn't ours. BUILT FOR iOS 26 A new Liquid Glass app icon, a drawer that behaves like a system sheet, and every way to add an address gathered onto one glass button. ALSO • Padlok speaks 26 languages, notifications included. • Addresses are free to create, however many — the three nearest stay open. • Favorites are pins now, marked only where the pin is what moved the row. • Twelve new pictograms — a parking garage, a shop, a package, a charging point. • Distances read in whole units, and finally respect the setting. • Pick your maps app from a menu instead of an alert. • An arrival stays in Notification Center, and can hide its codes four hours later. • The in-app biometric lock is gone: iOS locks Padlok behind Face ID itself, and does it better. And a long sweep underneath — iCloud sync, widgets and the Watch app refreshing on their own, the map no longer stacking a second set of pins, notifications carrying the floor, code labels and intercom number again, Shortcuts, sharing and Premium.
