Faster, and in step everywhere. FASTER ThisDay opens and comes back to the front without the pause it had, and the freezes that came every so often are gone. The Calendar, the Logbook and Categories answer at once, however much is in them. REMINDERS FOR EVERY EVENT Events from your calendars now remind you when they start, whether or not they have an alert of their own. Settings > Calendar accounts turns it off. An event or a task made on another device gets its reminder here too, and one finished elsewhere stops ringing. WIDGETS THAT KEEP UP Widgets follow every change, not only ticks: a new name, a new time, another day. They update when iCloud brings something with the app closed, and they no longer go blank after an update. ICLOUD What you change just before leaving the app is sent before it sleeps. A tick made from a notification is applied and synced at once. FIXED The Day Bar stays down while you type in the Inbox. A reminder for something already done no longer shows. And a number of smaller ones.
Places, medals, a sharper AI, and done that stays done. PLACES TO GO A new kind of item: a place. Search Apple Maps, keep it on a day or in the Inbox, and mark it visited when you have been. Open it in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze or Citymapper. Share a place from your maps app and it arrives in ThisDay as a place. The new Locations screen shows every one of them on a single map. MEDALS Eighteen medals for what you actually get done, from bronze to platinum, worked out from what is already in ThisDay. Pick one up, turn it over, take it apart. AN AI THAT KNOWS YOUR DAY Say it in one breath. ThisDay now understands "the day after tomorrow" and "this weekend", how long something lasts, what is urgent, a list as steps, places, and which of your categories a thing belongs to. Siri's "Add an item" reads the same way. Needs Apple Intelligence. A NEW SIDE MENU Every screen in its group, with what is waiting in each, and the categories you pin. ALSO NEW Countdowns to an event, with a widget. Repeats said the way you would say them, and repeats counted from the last time you did it. Auto sort for the Inbox. Change an item's type from its page. Turkish, the twelfth language. Ready for iPhone Duo. FIXED Tasks you finished or deleted no longer come back when iCloud syncs an older copy. Old copies left in Apple Reminders are tidied once. Ticking a to-do in a note no longer raises the keyboard. And a good number of smaller ones.
ThisDay 2.0 is the biggest update yet. • Made of glass. The Day Bar, the sheets and the menus are Liquid Glass now. Prefer it solid? There is a switch in Settings. • Share a category. Send a link and a category becomes a space for two, or ten. Tasks, events, notes and photos show up for everyone in it. • Plan with Apple Intelligence. Say or type what you have in mind and ThisDay turns it into tasks, events and habits, with times, repeats and steps. Speak in your own language. • ThisDay on Apple Watch. Your day and your habits on the wrist, dictation for a quick thought, and complications for the watch face. • Made for iPad. A sidebar that stays open, a day with room to breathe, and keyboard shortcuts: ⌘N for a new task, ⌘K for commands, ⌘1 to ⌘8 to move around, ⌘[ and ⌘] to step through days. • Live Activities. A task or event with a time counts down on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a Done button, and goes away once you tick it off. • Notes get a whole page. Write on the full screen, with checklists you can tick and dividers between your thoughts. • Your day, in your order. Hold a row and carry it where you want it. The order sticks. • Pull down to search, or keep pulling to jump to Someday, Today or Inbox. • Habits edit in place, like everything else. • Recaps have a new look and count everything you ticked off. • Siri can tick off the task it sees on your screen. Plus many smaller fixes, and a faster app all round.
Ten languages, Apple Reminders both ways, and a month that tells itself back to you. IN YOUR LANGUAGE ThisDay now speaks English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Every screen, every notification, every widget, every Siri phrase. APPLE REMINDERS, BOTH WAYS The lists you choose already showed up in your day. Now the tasks you make in ThisDay can be written back out as reminders, so they reach Siri, a Mac that does not run ThisDay, and anyone you share a list with. Off until you ask for it, in Settings. Switching it off takes the copies back out. YOUR MONTH, TOLD BACK TO YOU When a month ends, ThisDay puts it together as a handful of cards: what you finished, the habits you kept, where the month went, the pictures you saved, and the hour of the day you actually get things done. Every January closes the year the same way. REPEATS YOU CAN TRUST Repeats can say which day of the month they mean: the 27th, the first Thursday, the last day. Deleting one occurrence asks what you meant, the way a calendar does. And you choose what an untouched repeat does when its day passes: stay, follow you to today, or go. A HOME SCREEN WORTH LOOKING AT Widgets for Today, Calendar, Inbox, Habits, Moments and Polaroids. Tick a habit or a task straight from one. Sixty app icons, one group of them following your accent colour. ALSO NEW Google, Outlook and Exchange calendars. Shortcuts and Siri. Any colour you like for a category. The week can start on Saturday. QUIETER Syncing with iCloud no longer announces itself. It says so once, on a device that has never pulled your account down before, where an empty day needs explaining. After that it works in silence. SMALLER THINGS THAT ADD UP The save buttons in the capture sheet are pinned to the foot of it now, side by side, so a long form can no longer push them off the screen. Settings goes sideways instead of upwards: opening a category and then its icon picker used to stack three sheets, and now each slides in beside the last with a way back. A photo zooms to the point you pinched and can be dragged around once it is bigger than the screen. And when a newer ThisDay is on the App Store, the app says so once and asks. FIXED Repeating tasks could pile up on Today as overdue copies of the same task. A reminder that had already rung stayed on the Lock Screen after you ticked the thing off. An event mirrored to your calendar came back and appeared twice. A long screen name in the navigation broke across two lines mid-word. The calendar in every widget was stuck on a Monday week. The small confirmation sounds ignored the ring/silent switch after a voice note had been recorded or played. And a good number of smaller ones.
