Kuta 2.1 puts your workout on the Lock Screen and connects to Apple Health. LIVE ACTIVITIES Start a workout and lock your phone. The countdown keeps running on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: current phase, interval count, time remaining, and your target speed. Updates land at every interval change, so the Activity is always right without draining your battery. APPLE HEALTH Kuta can now save finished workouts to Apple Health as indoor runs with duration and distance. Strictly opt-in and off by default, and write-only: Kuta never reads any health data. Turn it on in Profile, under "Your data". PROGRESS A new progress view: your totals, an 8-week volume chart, a pace trend, and your personal records in one place. Open it from "See progress" on the home screen. Free, like the rest of the core app. CRASH RECOVERY If the app is ever killed mid-workout (a call, a force quit, a dead battery on the charger), Kuta now offers to continue exactly where you stopped: same interval, same elapsed time, same distance. Paused, waiting for you. AI DRAFT REFINEMENT (Pro) Five chips on every AI draft: Shorter, Longer, Easier, Harder, More recovery. Each one reshapes the session instantly, offline, with no second AI call. Your paces stay calibrated. YOUR DATA, PORTABLE Export everything Kuta knows as a single file: custom workouts, history, favorites, pace profile, settings. Import merges and never wipes. Plus: duplicate any workout, a "Repeat my last workout" Siri shortcut, per-session audio mute, and a configurable start countdown. FIXES Favorites on preset workouts now survive app restarts (a 2.0 bug, sorry). Better recovery after phone calls mid-workout. Timers stay exact through long pauses and background time. Dozens of smaller fixes.
Kuta 2.0 is the biggest update since launch. AI WORKOUT CREATION (Pro) Describe a treadmill session in plain language and Kuta drafts it for you. Examples: - "30-minute threshold run with 4 hill repeats" - "Quick 20-minute VO2max session" - "Fun fartlek with sprints and some hills" - "Easy 45-minute aerobic run" - "2-hour marathon block" Every draft uses your configured paces. You review the full interval list, edit anything you want, then save. The same plan runs in active mode, shows in history, repeats from the Last Workout card, and exports to Strava. ON-DEVICE AI Workouts are generated on your iPhone using Apple Foundation Models when Apple Intelligence is available on iOS 26. No cloud. No account. No prompt history sent anywhere. When Apple Intelligence is not available on your device or is turned off, Kuta falls back to a deterministic on-device synthesizer so a safe prompt always produces a workout. TREADMILL-SPECIFIC INTENT The builder understands treadmill running vocabulary: marathon and half marathon blocks, ultra and long aerobic runs, threshold and tempo, Norwegian-style sessions, VO2max, 5K and 10K repeats, fartlek, hills, and recovery runs. Prompts are routed to coherent session structures instead of being flattened. STRUCTURED WORKOUT PLANS A new structured plan model carries pyramids, mixed time and distance intervals, and per-interval inclines through setup, execution, summary, history, and repeat. Past workouts now show the exact session you ran, not a flattened approximation. SAFETY FIRST Prompts that mention injury, pregnancy, medical conditions, or unsafe exertion are politely refused. Generated drafts are validated and clamped before they reach the run screen. Incline is capped at 15%. Distance recoveries must have an active recovery speed. Speeds stay within Kuta's limits.
Small stability improvements and bug fixes.
Music no longer pauses at the start of a workout.
Fixed a few visual bugs.
Smashed out some minor bugs.
Fixed an issue where voice announcements were stopping background music instead of briefly lowering it. Music now ducks during cues and resumes immediately after, no more interruptions mid-run. Need an extra 30 seconds on your rest? Tap the countdown timer during a workout to reveal quick +0:30 / –0:30 controls. They auto-dismiss so they stay out of your way. Turn it on in Settings → Workout Defaults → Tap Timer to Adjust.
Fixed card layout consistency across all iPhone screen sizes and general bug fixes.
New: 12-3-30 mode, the viral treadmill workout. 12% incline, 3 mph, 30 minutes. Tap Start and go. Also smashed some bugs!
