Localization: Snag is now available in Canadian French across the iPhone app, widgets, and the Apple Watch app. Live Activity: Tapping an identified Lock Screen or Dynamic Island activity now opens the recognized song in History more reliably.
History Search: Search saved songs, artists, albums, notes, places, and dates. History Map: Open the new map view to revisit where you snagged songs. Music Links: The Snag result screen now shows direct Apple Music and Spotify buttons when links are available. Control: Fixed the Control Center and Lock Screen state after recognition so Snag returns to Ready more reliably. Localization: Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese wording has been refined, with additional reliability polish across the app.
Languages: Snag now supports Japanese, German, French, and Korean across the iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widgets, and Controls. Control: The Snag control now shows Ready when inactive in some cases, and returns to Ready state after a background match. Translations: Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese translations have been refined.
Retry Analysis: Review additional possible matches from saved recordings, choose the correct song, or mark the Snag as no match when the suggestions are wrong. Control & Live Activity: The Snag Control now stays highlighted while background snagging is active, can stop the session with another tap, and shows improved Lock Screen results with artwork and better long-title handling. History & Watch: Album art now appears in History and Detail, and Apple Watch capture status is cleaner while your Snags sync through iCloud.
New Languages: Snag is now fully localized in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. iCloud Backup: Your History now backs up to your private iCloud account, so your snags and their recordings can restore on a new iPhone or after reinstalling. Sync Across Devices: Your History and recordings also stay in sync across your devices signed in to the same iCloud account.
Background Snagging: Start listening from Control Center, the Lock Screen, or the Action Button without opening the app. Snag listens for up to 30 seconds in the background and shows a Live Activity with real-time status. Once it identifies a song, tap it to open the app and quickly share. You can also choose to have the Control open the app each time instead of listening in the background in the Settings tab.
Reliability: This update includes safer library migration for existing users and fixes a major issue that could cause the library to become corrupted. Video Import: Choose a video from your library and Snag can scan it for possible songs. Review the results, preview the video timing, and add the songs you want to History. To use it, tap the film button on the History tab. Shared Links: Snag links now open in a native in-app view, with options to open in Snag, Apple Music, or Spotify. Received links are saved in a new screen on the History tab so you can find them again later.
Share: Send any recognized Snag to a friend, with links to Apple Music and Spotify, when available. Spotify: When available, you’ll now get a Spotify link on every Snag detail page. Apple Watch: Snag from your wrist. Recordings sync back to your iPhone history. Like with the main app, you can always snag with no internet connection and then ID the songs later on iPhone.
Control: New Snag Control for Lock Screen and Control Center. Tap to start snagging from anywhere. Visuals: New audio visualizer reacts to the music as Snag listens
