Ride Journal — where your cycling data meets the story behind the ride. Your power numbers and heart rate tell you what happened on a ride. Ride Journal helps you capture everything else: the climb that nearly broke you, the café stop halfway, the view at the top, and how it all felt by the time you rolled home. Import a ride from a .fit file or turn a cycling workout already in Apple Health into a journal entry, then bring it to life. Add your own notes, drop in photos from along the way, and attach the playlist that powered you up the hill so you can relive the whole adventure later. Now you can just ask. Say "My latest ride in Ride Journal" and Siri tells you about it without the app ever coming to the front. Ask for your ride stats for this week, this month, this year or all time and hear the distance, the time and the climbing totalled up. Nothing to set up first — the phrases work the moment you install the update. Shortcuts gets the whole journal. Find rides by date, place, distance, duration, elevation, average speed, heart rate, how the ride felt, the weather or a word in your notes. Find the climbs inside them by category, length, gradient or how long they took. Then drop any of it into a shortcut or an automation of your own. Every outdoor ride now remembers the weather. The moment a ride is imported, Ride Journal looks up the conditions where and when you set off and keeps them with the entry: the temperature, the day's high and low, the wind speed and the direction it came from, the chance of rain, and an hour-by-hour strip covering the time you were actually out. It stays with the entry, so it reads the same in a year. Weather data is from Apple Weather. And when the forecast missed it, tag the ride yourself — Fog, Rain, Storm, Hail, Windy, Hot, Cold and six more, whatever you actually got rather than what the sky was doing at the airport. Your week and your month now read as more than a grid. Week in Numbers and Month in Numbers put your total distance over a day-by-day chart, with your rides, moving time, climbing, average speed and heart rate, your time in daylight from Apple Health, your longest ride and the place you set off from most. Above the figures, a short written summary picks out the two or three that tell the story. Apple Intelligence writes that summary on your device. Your ride data is never sent to a server to produce it, and it is written in your own language — English, German, French or Japanese. On a device without Apple Intelligence turned on, every figure is still there. You can just ask now. Say "My latest ride in Ride Journal" and Siri tells you about it without the app ever coming to the front, or ask for your ride stats for this week, this month, this year or all time. And Shortcuts gets the whole journal: find rides by distance, place, how they felt, the weather or a word in your notes, find the climbs inside them, and build any of it into an automation of your own. Every outdoor ride now remembers the weather. Ride Journal looks it up the moment you import and keeps it on the entry — temperature, the day's high and low, wind speed and direction, the chance of rain, and an hour-by-hour strip covering the time you were actually out. When the forecast missed it, tag the ride yourself — Fog, Rain, Storm, Windy, Hot, Cold and seven more. Your week and month have grown up, too. Week in Numbers and Month in Numbers now carry a day-by-day chart, your climbing and moving time, your time in daylight, your longest ride and the place you set off from most. Above the figures, Apple Intelligence writes you a couple of lines about them — on your device, in your language, with none of it sent to a server. Also in this release: the weather card on the Home tab can be pulled to refresh, and a fair few small things were tidied up along the way.
