Redpoint is ready for iOS 26 – climbing the Liquid Glass mountains!

- Fixes an issue where sessions wouldn’t be transferred to the iPhone in some cases. - Improves route lookup with our theCrag integration.

Redpoint 4.1 is a BIG update for everyone who has been using Redpoint for a while already: You can now restore sessions from iCloud – I was able to recover 3-year old sessions from my old iPhone! You can reach the new feature via: Redpoint → Settings → Restore Sessions from iCloud → Wait until the table fills up → select the ones you’d like to import. I really hope that you’ll enjoy is as much as I did collecting all your climbing history into one place.

This update fixes bugs and improves the integration with theCrag.com.

- Fixes an issue where a climbing workout could be aborted mid-tracking. - Re-adds the corner complication so you can launch Redpoint with one tap. Hello fellow climbers! This update introduces an all-new Watch app for Redpoint: - Completely redesigned & rebuilt using modern SwiftUI technology. - Allowing us to make use of the larger Watch screens and build more complex user interfaces. - Grades are now always visible at the bottom of the workout view when you swipe down one page. - Adds double tap feature for newer Watches. - You can now change the grading system during a workout. - Improved tracking reliability and sync with phone. We’ve been working on this update for the last couple of months, we hope you like it as much as we do! Next up, we’ll focus on the iPhone version of Redpoint, especially improving the data visualization, settings and sync with Strava and theCrag.com.

This update adds a workaround for altitude tracking if you have iOS 17.4 or watchOS 10.4 or newer installed: Unfortunately, Apple introduced a bug with the latest updates which prevents barometric data from being delivered to the device. Instead of waiting for them to fix this, we have introduced a workaround: You now have to grant permission to Motion & Fitness data when you start a new workout. This is only necessary once, and afterwards you should be able to use Redpoint as usual. I am very sorry for this unexpected behavior! On top of that, this update fixes an issue where logging into a TheCrag account could lead to a crash when opening settings.

Fixes a bug where scrolling down the session detail view won't work when touching on one of the charts.

Ready for Action? This update of Redpoint adds support for the new Apple Watch Ultra and its Action Button! On Apple Watch Ultra, open Settings → Action Button → Action → select Workout. Then, go back one page and select the climbing discipline that should be started when pressing the Action Button (for example, “Bouldering”). During the workout, suiting actions will automatically be assigned to the Action Button: - Log difficulty - Log selected difficulty - Log selected tick type On top of that, Redpoint has been optimized for Apple Watch Ultra’s bigger screen. Redpoint 3.6 introduces a new partnership with theCrag.com! That means you can now access their catalog of more than 900000 climbing routes all around the globe and assign them with your Redpoint climbs in order to upload them to theCrag.com.  TheCrag is the largest collaborative rock climbing & bouldering platform. You can sign in, or create a new theCrag account via Redpoint‘s Settings. To assign a theCrag route, open the detail view of an ascent and tap "Assign route from TheCrag.com". Also new: You can now change the altitude for ascents, if the automatic tracking algorithm didn't do it right! For that, go to the Ascent detail view and select "Edit" –> Change Ascent Altitude. - Fixes an issue where ascents might‘ve been out of order in the table list of ascents. They are now sorted again correctly by the time they occurred. No worries: no data was lost or has been saved in the wrong order. This was a bug with how data is displayed in the user interface. - Fixes an issue where low top rope routes under 5 meters would not be detected. - Re-upload to Strava: If your session doesn’t appear on Strava you have now the option to re-upload it: Scroll all the way down in a session to open “Detailed technical data” and tap on the “Strava ID” cell to trigger a re-upload. - Fine-tuning for ascent detection: If our algorithm doesn’t detect an ascent, but you have logged a difficulty data point, the algorithm will now chose the highest peak close to that difficulty data point. Update 3.3.3 brings better support for outdoor climbing locations! Now that many gyms are still closed, gym climbers escape into the nature. Redpoint 3.3.3 adds outdoor climbing locations from theCrag.com theCrag.com is the largest collaborative rock climbing & bouldering platform and offers more than 700‘000 outdoor routes. There‘s something close to you for sure as well! Locations from theCrag.com can be imported and attached to sessions in Redpoint. You can also use the “nearby” tab to discover outdoor climbing close to you.

Adds general tips how to climb during the Coronavirus pandemic: 1. Check beforehand: How crowded is my gym right now? Which times are less crowded (usually in the morning). 2. Check the website of your gym or give them a call to avoid waiting in line. Some gyms even require reserving a time-slot beforehand (usually online). 3. Get changed at home, beforehand. This saves time at the gym and avoids contact with other climbers. Usually changing rooms and showers will be closed. 4. Prefer contactless payment, or use the self check-in in case you have a membership. 5. Don’t forget to wash your hands when you arrive at the gym. Some gyms provide water + soap at the entrance. 6. Use liquid chalk! This is chalk mixed with alcohol, the alcohol evaporates quickly and the chalk remains on your hands. At the same time it disinfects your hands and holds! 7. Take a free spot at the wall. Gyms won’t be crowded, they have to limit the number of climbers who can enter the building simultaneously. 8. Keep distance to other climbers! There should be marks on the pads or walls indicating distance that should be kept to fellow climbers. 9. Don’t run around, stick to one area for a while. 10. Wear a mask. In some gyms it‘s optional, but masks seem to be quite effective in preventing the pandemic from spreading. 11. Limit your climbing workout to 1.5 to 2 hours. Others are probably already waiting in line to enter the gym. Your gym might even enforce shorter climbing times. 12. Don’t take a shower at your gym. Shower at home. 13. Show patience and respect.
