Fixed: docks could vanish the moment you started dragging a file in Finder and only come back when you dropped it. Dragging no longer counts as fullscreen, so your docks stay put (and auto-hide docks still reveal when you drag onto them).
- Docks no longer cover fullscreen apps and video. When you put an app or a video into fullscreen, your docks get out of the way and reappear as soon as you leave fullscreen. - New "Show over fullscreen apps" option (Pro) in Dock Preferences under ‚behavior‘, for when you do want a dock to stay visible on top of fullscreen apps.
Fixed: the icon cache could grow to an enormous size over time (many gigabytes), especially when using watched folder tabs. Cached icons are now stored at a sensible size and reused instead of piling up, and the cache is capped so it stays small. On first launch, SwiftStrip clears any oversized cache left behind by earlier versions.
- Fixed: Items on external drives no longer get stuck showing the "unavailable" icon when SwiftStrip launches at login before the drive has mounted. Icons now recover on their own once the drive appears, with no need to restart the app. - Plug or eject a drive while SwiftStrip is running and the affected icons update automatically. - Full Disk Access is no longer required. SwiftStrip works fully without it, so the permission prompt is gone. Items you add keep working through the access you already grant when you drop them onto a dock.
- Process Docks: A live strip of every running app on your Mac. Click to activate, click the frontmost app again to hide it, right-click for Quit / Show All Windows / Reveal in Finder. The frontmost app is highlighted with a glow; hidden apps are dimmed. The window auto-sizes as apps launch and quit. - Drag docks from anywhere: Hold ⌘⌃ and click-drag anywhere on a dock (icon, tab, background, menu button) to move it. A real help when the dock is narrow and the usual edge handles are hard to hit. - Right-click any running app in the dock for Hide, Show, and Quit. - Fixed: Option-click on running apps now hides reliably on the first try, even when the app is frontmost.
New Features - Added icon-to-label spacing slider in Dock Settings → Labels, allowing fine control over the gap between icons and their labels (0-16px). Especially useful with custom fonts where the default spacing is too tight. Improvements - Multi-monitor support: docks now remember their placement across all connected screens - Automatic repositioning when monitors are disconnected or rearranged
Version 1.1.5 fixed hidden docks with "Float on Drag" revealing on regular clicks in the dock's normal position area
New Features - Added "Open with" support: drag files or folders onto apps to open them with that app (works across docks too) - Auto-hide docks now reveal when dragging items over them (respects auto-show delay setting) - Trying to rearrange items in an alphabetically sorted tab now shows a dialog offering to turn off auto-sort Bug Fixes - Fixed drag-and-drop swap not working when dragging one app onto another - Fixed dock re-hiding while actively dragging items over it - Fixed spring-loaded folder menu appearing unexpectedly after swapping items Improvements - Animated swap preview: destination item slides to show where it will go before you drop - File count badge shown when dragging multiple files onto a tab - Status messages for failed drops (permission errors, inaccessible folders) - Progress feedback when copying large files into watched folders - Respects macOS "Reduce motion" accessibility setting for drag animations
- Added "Snap to monitor edges": dock windows magnetically snap to screen edges when dragged within 20px, with independent per-edge locking and corner support. Enabled by default; toggle in Dock Preferences → Behavior. - Fixed auto-hide "slide off screen" not working when slide direction is set to top
- Drag files out of watched folder tabs to Finder, Desktop, or other apps. Default moves the file, Option+drag copies. Drag to regular tabs to add as shortcut. Drag between watched folder tabs to move/copy files between folders. - Spring-loaded folder menus now show all items (scrollable) instead of capping at 50.
Bug Fixes - Fixed app freezing during startup when watched folders are on unavailable network mounts - Fixed watched folder items showing "missing" indicator instead of disappearing when files are removed from the folder
- Added Watch Folder (Pro): Turn any tab into a live view of a folder's contents. Enable "Watch a folder" in tab settings, select a folder via drag-drop or browse, and the tab automatically updates whenever files are added, removed, or renamed. Choose from four sort orders (name, date modified, date added, kind). Watched tabs display a circle icon before the name, or an alert sign if the folder becomes unavailable. Drop files onto watched tabs to move/copy them into the folder (Option=copy, Command=alias, like Finder). Drag files over tab buttons to switch tabs while dragging. You can still drop files onto apps and folders within watched tabs. - Added "Delay before showing" setting for auto-hide: configure how long the mouse must hover in the trigger area before the dock reappears (0-2 seconds, default 0.1s)
Localization - Added Japanese translation Bug Fixes - Fixed Finder not becoming frontmost app after command-click reveal or opening folders New Features - Added Import/Export for dock configurations: export single docks or full backups to `.swiftstrip` files that can be shared between machines (File menu ⇧⌘E/⇧⌘I, right-click menu, or Preferences) - Added custom font selection for icon labels, tab bar, and status bar (uses macOS system font panel) Improvements - Improved dock window resizing: larger 6px grab areas on all edges for easier resizing - Top resize edge now positioned at grid boundary (below tab bar) for more intuitive interaction
