Zoigl shows which pubs serving Zoigl (“Zoiglstube”) are open today. Zoigl is the typical beer of the region Upper Palatinate in Bavaria. The detail view of a selected Zoiglstube shows on several tabs: • Info: general information about the Zoiglstube (name of the innkeeper, address, telephone number, email address, homepage, origin of the Zoigl, opening hours, type of food available and more), • Map: its location on a map from which navigation to the Zoiglstube can be started, • Dates: a list of opening days, • Calendar: an annual calendar showing all Zoigl dates of a year at a glance (in-app purchase), • Images: for a large part of the Zoiglstuben, images of the Zoiglstube are available and can be displayed in the app (in-app purchase), • Visits: for each Zoigstube you can record one or more visits with ratings of beer, food and ambience as well as a description as free text (in-app purchase). Alternatively, a list of all Zoigl places (Zoigstuben, inns and restaurants serving Zoigl, breweries producing an unfiltered beer marketed as Zoigl) can be displayed. The master data of all approx. 100 Zoigl places and the Zoigl dates for the 16 Zoigstuben of the association “Echter Zoigl vom Kommunbrauer” (Real Zoigl from the communal brewer) are delivered with the app. The dates for the more than 50 other Zoigl pubs and taverns serving Zoigl can be purchased additionally for each calendar year as an in-app purchase. The app also provides information in areas with poor or no mobile signal reception and without a connection to the Internet, because all data and dates are stored in the app itself. An internet connection is only required to display the maps and calculate the distance in road kilometers.

Introduction of a map cache for non-Apple map servers: • If a map other than Apple Maps, i.e. Google or OpenStreetMap (OSM, OSM2), is selected in the map tab, all map tiles delivered by the corresponding map server are stored in a cache. If a map tile is found in the cache when the map is called up again, it is used without causing network traffic. If there are enough map tiles in the cache, a map can also be displayed offline, e.g., in areas with no reception, which is not uncommon when sitting in a Zoiglstuben. The cache survives a restart of the app, so that with frequent use of the app, almost all the necessary map tiles are available offline. By default, a maximum of 100 megabytes are used for the cache per map (Google, OSM, OSM2). • The last map selection made now is saved in the app settings, so that it survives even if the app is restarted. This selection can also be made in the app settings. • The size of the map cache in megabytes can be selected in the app settings. Please note that a separate cache is maintained for each map type. Reducing the cache to a value of 0 deletes all map caches and prevents further use of the caches until a value greater than 0 is set again. • Please note that if you select OSM2, the free map server used only provides a daily quota of 5,000 tiles per 24 hours. This is what makes the use of a cache particularly interesting when using OSM2, as requests for map tiles can be safisfied from the cache. When the quota is expired, a corresponding message is displayed. Further changes: • Adding and changing the voice command for Siri now works again in iOS 26. However, speech recognition has difficulty recognising dialect words such as Zoigl. Therefore, it sometimes takes several attempts before Siri understands the voice command. • The display of Siri query results has been revised and improved; text and images are now fully visible again (for all supported versions of iOS). • Various minor improvements and efficiency enhancements by reducing resource requirements. • The help text (Extended Help) has been thorougly revised and supplemented with screenshots for iOS 26.
