Fixes a number of issues with saving Motifs If you rename the cloth, it will be remembered when next opening The app would autosave every time it was deactivated if the chart was unsaved. Now it will only autosave if the app is closed, so that it does not interfere with the use in Split Screen mode. (We dont recommend using Mobistitch in split screen on 11 inch iPads. Better to use 'the other app' in Slide Over mode)
The recently added "Long press to select erase" wasn't working on some devices / pencils, (although it did work with fingers) Was also conflicting with 'hard press to draw in thicker strokes' for people with pressure sensitive pencils. Now changed so that a long press of more than half a second *in the same spot* will select erase when pointer is raised. Chart size now added at bottom right of screen. (Version moved to top left) Changed the way blends are shown in the recenly used color blobs. Changed the files tab so that creating a PDF now launches a popup window for PDF options. This saves space and allows you to see more saved files , especially on 11inch devices Ruler on left wasn't refreshing with the one on the right.

(App Version moved to top left) Changed the way blends are shown in the recently used color blobs. Changed the files tab so that creating a PDF is now done by tapping a button, which launches a popup window for PDF options. This saves a lot of space and so allows you to see more saved files , especially on 11inch devices. An extra vertical ruler is now on the left of the main grid when in landscape mode. (This is to assist a few customers for whom the usual one on the right is obscured when the iPad is in large text mode)
Stitched View drawing time reduced by 60% Zoom slider has been replaced by a set of buttons. This will make zooming in and out much faster, (as it will no longer try to draw everything at all sizes between old and new sizes.) Any underlay image (if present) will appear in faded form behind the black symbol view. (This can be hidden or shown using the checkbox under the grid.) Backstitch types now appear in a popup menu - clicking on the backstitch button shows the menu and allows you to choose a style. While this now involves two taps instead of one, it simplifies the toolbar and allows room for possible future options. The Name and Number of a thread can be changed for the selected color, by tapping the gear icon in the palette. This allows you to add unusual/custom colors to your design - choose a similar color, and rename it to whatever you like. In the same screen:- Strands can now be set for each color- the default is 2 Backstitch strands can now be set independently from the strands for normal stitches. Backstitch can be allocated a different color to the 'real' color so that it stands out more clearly. For example, white backstitch can be shown as red in a chart (All done on the 'edit thread' screen accessed by tapping the gear icon in a palette.) Moved the 'grid visible' checkbox to the design screen so that the grid can be flicked on and off with ease PDF Export - the key now includes strands, and (where backstitch has been used), the backstitch strands and color Reduced the amount of repainting done while selecting an area
FIX: Sharing PDF using button not working for some people. FIX: Palette was reverting to 1st color after some actions. FIX: Toolbar was reverting to cross stitch after Undo NEW: Ability to save a selected area as a Clip for later. NEW: Clip list showing saved clips for re-use. (Recreates the Motif functionality of MacStitch) NEW: Left swipe on a saved clip to paste using the current color only (recreates speciality stitch functionality of MacStitch) NEW: Installs a small set of sample motifs into the clips area if they do not exist, including NEW: Some backstitch letters are present as clips - you can copy from these to make words NEW: Added a setting which enables 'long press selects ERASE mode' CHANGE: The 'current color' bar is wider NEW: Sharing an OXS file to Files or Email will now send a Zip file instead of the original OXS file. This avoids issues with some browsers and email clients which treat XML content incorrectly.

Fixes bug where pasting after copying from another chart, could mess up the colors.
Choosing 'erase'/ cloth color while pasting a selection could result in having both main and motif toolbars showing at the same time.
Using the shift buttons to move a selection to the right or down did not work beyond position 40
Fixes bug : when selecting 'cloth' to erase, the app could switch to Full Cross mode, making it hard to erase any other kind of stitch Fixes bug : The 'Browse iCloud' button now works again.
Increased color count - maximum 150 colors in any chart , maximum 120 colors when importing. (increased from 70 in previous version)
Fixes a bug saving blended colors. Added information about font and symbol used into the OXS file format.
Expanded the range of symbols available in symbol sets 2,3 & 4 from a choice of 74 to now 200 in each AS A RESULT - we increased the number of possible colors in any one chart to 100. (If you use more than 72, original symbol set #1 becomes unavailable because it is limited to 72 shapes) OXS files now remember which symbol set was used when designing, so that it is selected when the chart is opened. Other changes: Adding a color now updates the recently used colors. Symbol selection now uses a grey background to show 'used symbol' instead of blue color, which was hard to see on thin symbols. Symbol of current color now shows in green.
Reverted a change when saving OXS relating to tent stitches. (One 3rd party app was unable to read - now they can) Fixed an issue where removing ALL colors meant that no new colors could be added. Increased the 'recent color' panels to show 4 items, now including the current one. The recent colors will normally be in usage order, unless you reuse one which is already shown, in which case no change occurs. Changed the recent color panels to show the symbol as well as color and number ('DMC'/'ANC' etc are now omitted to make space)
Added 'inbetween' stitch - will add a stitch if drawing quickly leaves a gap between two stitches. There is a setting (Dropped Stitches) to turn this off if you wish Added new feature 'Replace Cloth by Color' - this turns any area which is cloth into stitches of the current color, while respecting a selected area if one is in effect. Tent stitches now save as object of type"tent' inside the OXS file, instead of a 'partialstitch' Users should see no difference, - this matches the alternative format introduced by CSP, and so resolves issues with the 'MyCozyApp' Added 'recently used colors' bar to the palette areas - this shows the last 3 used colors, so that you can go back to a previous selection without hunting through the palette.
Added icons to the view style buttons. Added version number to bottom of screen. Moved the Instructions button to top of screen so as to avoid it being activated by accident. Fixed an issue using eyedropper tool when knots or similar were in the chart Fixed an issue with symbol allocation. Fixed an issue with backstitch if started outside the chart area. Added the ability to have palette above the navigator or vice versa. Undo and eyedropper will return the drawing style back to what it was before they were used. Added line numbers to the palette. Added a small 'current color' indicator on the small palette. Added the ability to blend 2 colors Added a menu item to remove duplicated colors to the toolbox.
PDF export was losing the stitch counts PDF Export could fail if using symbol set 1 The search box over the floss list now filters results instead of scrolling to the first match (and no longer closes the keyboard ) PDF key was wider than the page under some circumstances
PDF export was losing the stitch counts PDF Export could fail if using symbol set 1 The search box over the floss list now filters results instead of scrolling to the first match (and no longer closes the keyboard )
Changed icons for Undo/Redo slightly - adding R and U for clarity Saving now takes place 'in the background' to improve response time. Added a visual guide into the navigator window so that you can see which part you are working upon. Reduced the amount of text in the 'small' palette listing, (especially for when blends exist), by hiding 'DMC', ':' and the brackets. Dragging down the list of chart files/ PDF files will now re-examine the documents folder for recently added files, instead of having to restart the app. Changed the way blends and stitch counts are displayed in the palette. Fixed issue where loading a chart containing 0 colors would create 2 'cloth' rows.
Saving a chart with markup was failing to work.
Settings screen further modified for really small iPads Added backup files for when saving over an existing filename Added a setting to turn that feature off if needed. Added a confirmation message after saving, which checks that the saved file has been created correctly. Added a Please wait message for large charts 60% reduction in the time taken to save large charts. Now recognises tent stitches in OXS files saved by DP Software Now corrects the backstitch locations in OXS files created by DP Software in Europe where the decimal character could appear as a comma instead of a point Moved zoom slider back under the grid for better control Added stitch count to bottom right of screen Added total edit time to the bottom right of screen
Fix to Charts and PDF list placement - (these were not fully visible on some iPads with smaller screens, while in landscape mode.)
Changed the Files tab layout to visually separate import area from the PDF area. Changed the way that triangle part stitches (which can be treated as 1/4 or 3/4 stitches) are rendered when in stitch view - these now show as triangles. The thumbnail image while designing now shows the triangular stitches too - previously these weren't visible because the image size was smaller. Similar changes to the color preview page in the exported PDF Added a 1mm bead to the other sizes
Added a new way to do point-to-point backstitch. If you set the new Settings value of 'BS = "join the dots" then instead of dragging lines out from 'here to there', you just tap points one by one and backstitch will join the dots as you go.
Added the ability to use beads (2 to 6 mm), and recognise beads in a chart from MacStitch/WinStitch. In order not to crowd the toolbar, French Knots and Beads all work from a single toolbar button.
Fixed an issue causing a crash when importing an image with very few colors. Dithering (deliberate confetti) is now optional - a switch is on the file tab next to import. Left panel has been made narrower so as to allow more design space Zoom slider has been returned to the left panel under the navigator , so that it is not accidentally activated by the hands Onion skin image on/off slider has been moved to above the chart area for the same reason. 'Highlight current color' now works in all modes, and will highlight using a CIRCLE in some modes, or by changing color to red in symbol modes Highlight current color now highlights halfstitches too Stitch Count was resetting to zero after undo.
New: Added chart title to top of design screen New : Added a mini navigator to the portrait view , which works like the large one in landscape view, allowing you to quickly navigate around the design. New : In portrait mode , dragging the mini palette to the right will reveal the larger palette, file selectors , and settings screens. New: Added tent stitch drawing style to allow better compatibility with Mac/WinStitch files Fix: PDF was not using symbol fonts for half stitches Chg: Attempts to prevent saving when there is only a blank filename, or one that does not end with OXS New: Preference setting to make the app keep the screen alive while it is open
Improved 'start point detection' for backstitch when using 'corners only' mode versus '9 points' mode. If opening an OXS file which contains blends, the app will attempt to display a blended color, (although you cannot create a new blend in MobiStitch) It will remember the blends contained in a file from elsewhere, and preserve them if the file is resaved It will also accept and resave backstitch strands and colors, (although like blends, these are not supported in Mobistitch) Now formats the thread numbers for a better sort order, so that 10, 100, 11 sort as 10,11,100 When opening a chart, if the screen is empty, you will not be asked to confirm the opening task. Improved backstitch detection when erasing backstitch using cloth color Eyedrop tool now tries to pick up backstitch color where present. New slimmer palette rows to show more colors at once. (A preference lets you go back to the larger size if using fingers rather than a pencil) New preference to enable/disable the addition of pink guidelines when tapping the rulers. Fixed temporary backstitch color change happening on most recently added backstitch line.
Fixes messages about plugins Fix for some people not able to import an image
Fix - It was possible to add 'invisible' stitches outside of the chart area.
Added a label for "current color" under the main grid. Added extra thread manufacturer choices in the Settings screen, more than the original choices. If you need DMC 01 to 35, reselect DMC in the Settings screen and a newer set of colors will be used as the default threads. Slightly changed the scaling of onion skin images brought over from MacStitch or WinStitch.
Fixes 'failure to start' bug when Anchor threads were chosen as the default. (If need be, delete the app and reinstall)
Adds 3 new symbol sets - you can now use symbols instead of simply letters You can switch between the symbol sets on the Settings screen These symbols work on screen and in exported PDFs, (and in Pattern Keeper) The symbol selector area shows used symbols in blue, and the current symbol in red. (If any symbols are used twice, the symbols will show up in red in the palette list.) All backstitch is now governed by the 'snap to 9 points' preference setting. As you begin to draw backstitch, the starting point shows as a small circle for confirmation of the start point

Some browsers add .XML to the end of filenames when downloaded, and it is not possible to stop that on an iPad, because it does not show the real extension by default in the Files app. This build will now detect files that have downloaded with the extension .OXS.XML, as well as the correct .OXS
Build 199.26 changes the way that two finger pinching operates It changes the way that an imported picture size is detected. If an onionskin image is in use, it will display a grayscale version of it in the navigator in areas that have no stitches.
Fixes: Backstitch of zero length can longer be created by accidental taps. Charts containing zero length backstitches will have these stripped when they are opened. The list of PDF files was the wrong height. Some half stitches had symbols in the wrong position when exported to a PDF file
FIX: File area rearranged to suit smaller iPad screens NEW: PDF output can now be single page or smaller sections NEW: PDF key now includes stitch counts NEW: PDF now includes title, page numbers, and two text spaces for data such as website and copyright info NEW: PDF now allows for an optional color preview page FIX: Petite stitches were turning into knots on save FIX: Flip actions were failing if the screen had been scrolled FIX: Copy and Erase could omit part stitches or backstitches touching the right and bottom of selected area FIX: Pasted knots and quarters could pick up incorrect color if pasted into a new chart

Fixed a bug where flip left/right or flip up/down would fail if the grid had been scrolled
Fix for flipping a selection when backstitch exists (selection was becoming too large)
New: the ability to use an Onion Skin image which is embedded inside an OXS file coming from MacStitch or WinStitch. Also amends the way vertical and horizontal simple backstitch lines are drawn. Previously, these would appear at some point to the left or above the pen. Now they snap to the closest vertical or horizontal line, (which may be below or to the right of the pointer) Fixes bug with incorrect size when importing. Imported image is kept at full resolution to assist tracing of gridded scanned charts (onion skin) - was previously reduced to (chartsize * 4) pixels to save memory
Rearranged the files section because PDF export was being hidden after iOS16 Added the ability to draw quarter stitches. Fixed an error that could occur if the maximum chart size was reached. Added the ability to set both width and height of new blank charts. (Imported images take on the shape of the image) Added the ability to remove long backstitches by clicking anywhere on the length while using cloth/erase color
Changed layout of files screen, as some users reported being unable to access the 'export to PDF' button.
Partial stitches now draw as triangles in 'stitched view' mode
Added 'Move' to the selection menu, so that you can select an area, and immediately start dragging it, rather than having to copy, erase, paste and move. Other minor tweaks
Added the ability to use an image under the grid as underlay/onion skin, for tracing purposes. You can now copy from one chart and paste into another while retaining the colors - colors will be added until the palette is full - after that, colors will be mapped to existing palette entries. Added Coates Puppets threads definitions. Added ability to change the 'default threads used for importing' on the settings page. Added error checking around image use.. (very large pictures could crash the app if memory runs out. Images are stored in a compressed form ,but when opened they use lots of memory) Increased the number of colors allowable for importing an image, from 50 to 70 Because that could make a chart with more colors than you wish, we have also added a new 'Remove least used color' option which allows for color reduction after import. (On Chart options menu item) Various small bug fixes Changed Apple SDK to SDK15
Fix: "remove white space' was removing too much of the chart. New: Added 'flip chart left/right' to the chart options popup menu
This version: (August 2021) Fix: Running backstitch was being added in the wrong place when screen had scrolled and not using 'backstitch on 9 point grid' New: Added a REDO button to the toolbar New: Added Red Heart Threads New: Added Gentle Art Sampler Threads Previous update (in case you missed it) New: Can now create PDFs New: Running backstitch mode ('scribble') New: Added 'Chart wide' options such as increase area, remove white space, center the design. New: Added a one-click 'save now' button New: Added preference to have running backstitch aligned to 9 points (as opposed to 4) New: Added Elizabeth Bradley 2021 colors Chg: Re-arranged Files page so as to allow separate scrolling of charts and PDFs Chg: Amended PCStitch import to distinguish between full and tent stitches Fix: Fixed bug where if the very first thing you did after installing was to import a picture, it could fail. Fix: Importing a picture will no longer generate duplicate colors Fix: Double Tap To Undo setting was always saving as 'true' Fix: deleting a color from the palette could delete the wrong row if it wasnt the current color. Fix: 'Grid Every' now displays whole numbers New: 'Grid Visible' - allows you to turn the grid off New: shows number of colors in the palette New: can add several colors quickly instead of having to keep clicking 'add a thread'
