Improved help for adding an IMAP account. Archival settings can now be exported and imported. When archiving in a day range "Older than" is now default instead of "Younger than". It's now possible to export all attachments of the selected emails at once. The attachment context menu now has an entry to open the selected attachments. There are now tooltips for the toolbars. Improved help: better description, new icon. Help in Setup window can now be opened and closed like in the Preferences window. Setup window is now resizable. The Tour window now has indicators if the text can be scrolled up or down in the case the scrollbars are hidden. It's now possible to empty the trash with the context menu. Adding an IMAP account has become easier After clicking on the plus icon to add a new account you only have to enter your email address and the password. Only when Mail Archiver can't guess the server name you have to enter it manually. Additional help system for the Setup The core problem in every software is learning where to click. The existing help system explains what the single elements of the Setup do. The new help system will show you where to click. Tour The Tour has a more modern look. Version 6.2 adds a few features to improve the Setup - It's possible to duplicate accounts and plans in the Setup. - Added tooltips to disclosure triangles in Setup/Plans. - Icons and headers in the Plans area of the Setup can be used to open and close the subsections, too, instead of only the disclosure triangle. - The Setup starts loading mailboxes after the Email Info section has opened. - It's possible to create an IMAP account when adding an account to a plan. Rest - Archiving emails with lots of image attachments has become significantly faster. - Added check for date range when archiving from IMAP. - After adding an IMAP account and switching to another section the password is now hidden after switching back. - After selecting "Archive all mailboxes" all mailboxes are now shown as selected. - Renamed older than/younger than to before and after for archiving and deleting emails. "before" is now the default instead of "after". - Increased preview size of non-picture attachments. - Added context menu to list of emails to delete emails and upload them back into an IMAP account.
Redesigned Setup Version 6 has a completely designed Setup. You can now archive to multiple plans. Different accounts can be archived in different date or day range. Deleting emails now has its own age or day range. You can, for instance, archive the newest emails and delete older emails. The Rest - The help in the Setup window doesn't use overlay windows anymore but text in a status bar. - Improved memory footprint when archiving lots of emails. - Improved progress window for diagnosis. - Added new option for mbox export to use minimal set of fields which is useful when the archive has problems. - Instead of creating a folder in Documents for each version there is now a main Mail Archiver folder. - The font preferences for the message body work again. - Improved mail header. The subject is now larger and the from is bold. - Added presets for creating IMAP accounts.
The authentication for sending emails has been changed and couple of bugs have been fixed. Bug fixes: - Fixed a problem with the size of the Setup window on Big Sur. - Fixed a problem with Gmail emails not all being archived. - Added an error message when an exception occurs during opening of an archive. - Main window again goes to full window instead of zoom when clicking on the green window button. - Fixed an exception when exporting an attachment.
Version 5.3 has all new icons with a more modern look. There are now 2 sets of icons. One for LightMode and one for DarkMode. Other new features are: It's possible to archive duplicate emails to multiple mailboxes. Internal emails (from and to domain the same) can be excluded from being archived. Added more warnings when free hard disk space is going down. When re-uploading emails to an IMAP account the emails are now added to the original mailbox folder. Print templates have been translated.
Mail Archiver is now available in: - French - Italian - Spanish Interface improvements - The Options part of the Setup has been redesigned. You can now select dates directly in the window. If you archive in an age range you can see the date that belongs to the age. - More modern look for Tour and Wizard. Speed improvements - The date range is directly selected in the IMAP account. If you only want to archive the newest emails then select a small date range like the last 7 days and the archival will be much faster. General improvements - Added the selected date range to the app log. - When reading a large directory of mbox files the beachball is no longer shown. - Emails are only deleted for the selected date range. - The archive no longer changes every time when opening. - The diagnosis now runs without showing the beachball. Finally!!! - The text in the email details is selectable again.
Version 5.1.1 fixes a couple of bugs: - Fixed a wrong error message "There was an error with the archive.". - Mail header wasn't parsed correctly. - Fixed a hard crash in when downloading external files. - From in some mails is no longer missing. - Fixed a hard crash when checking html. - Some Gif previews no longer missing from email. - MAX no longer snaps back to first monitor when the second monitor doesn't have a menubar.
