You can now save recipes from TikTok with Pestle 2.0!

There’s a lot of little fixes and some great new features in this release!

What’s new:
– Save recipes from TikTok using on-device AI.
– Notes! Lots of recipes now come with notes from the author.
– More websites supported.
– Nutrition information in Tiktoks and Instagram Reels are now stored in Pestle.
– The menu bar in the recipe viewer has been reorganised to make it easier to add recipes to your Shopping List and Meal Plan.
– Markdown exporting is improved

Fixes:
– Images wouldn’t show in the Meal Plan widget
– Some Households couldn’t use the Meal Plan widget
– Fixed SeriousEats
– Clicking a household invite link could do nothing
– Folders could disappear if you used multiple devices
– Meal Plan syncing could go awry if you used multiple devices
– Recipes could save with empty step sections
– Recipes with a deep linked source could crash Pestle.
– Resetting ingredients could show “2.0” instead of “2” for servings.
– Tapping a link to a recipe you’d shared would try to re-save it instead of taking you to your saved copy.
– Fixed deleting categories and cuisines not working.
– Experimental parser wouldn’t work
– Adding a new ingredient could crash Pestle.
– Announcements couldn’t be dismissed in some cases

Pestle can now refetch images for recipes with low-quality (or no) images.

Also, couple of bug fixes here, including imperial volumes not being preserved through conversions, a crash that could occur on Pro Max iPhones on rotation, a crash that could occur when updating your Cookbook, and a crash that could happen when granting Reminders permission from the recipe viewer page.

This update addresses a couple of bugs that popped up since 1.9!

– Fixed a crash when joining a household from a link
– Fixed iPads layout being a bit cramped
– Fixed the shopping list button missing on the meal plan screen.

You can now save recipes directly from Instagram to Pestle!

Pestle can also save recipes from any plain text source, including Notes.

Enjoy a fresh coat of paint across several screens and a delightfully over-engineered loading indicator.

Pestle can now recognise quarts, and is better at recognising ranged ingredients like "1-2/4 cups"

Couple of small changes here:
Printing recipes will now include images and ingredient sections
Pestle on Mac will now let you pick photos from places other than Photos.
You can now search by author
Fixed a bug where tapping the header while viewing a recipe wouldn't show you the photo
Fixed some errors affecting Markdown export

Introducing the Pestle in-app browser! Add recipes without ever leaving Pestle.

There's lots of other improvements too:
– Export your entire cookbook to markdown.
– Notes and Ingredient Sections are now included in your Markdown exports.
– Fixed a bug where recipes saved from Chrome could save multiple times.
– Fixed a bug preventing recipes from The Times from being bookmarked.
– Recipes imported from Paprika will now re-fetch images at higher quality.
– Ranged fractional quantities are now better supported and scaled.

This update adds some great new features to the Pantry for Pestle Pro users. Scan barcodes as you shop to automatically add items to your pantry, and add expiration dates to get reminded when you need to restock!

This update also addresses a crash that could affect some iPad users in portrait mode when they tried to start cooking.

# Introducing Pestle Pantry

Add kitchen staples, like Olive Oil, Salt, Pepper, etc to your pantry, and we'll make sure they're not added to your shopping list by meal plans or recipes.

# Ingredient Sections

You can now create ingredient sections by adding a ":" to the end of ingredient. For example "For the sauce:" will format all subsequent ingredients in their own sections.

Other changes:
– This update also addresses an issue with SharePlay
– Only today and future recipes in the meal plan will be added to your shopping list
– Anyone in a household can now delete all recipes, regardless of whether it is theirs.

This update fixes a bug where when creating a shoping list from your meal plan, units wouldn't automatically be converted.

Thank you for all the lovely feedback on Pestle 1.6! This update has a couple bug fixes in it, namely a fix for a couple users whose full cookbooks weren't being loaded :)
