I plan to make a separate app specifically for showing the camera on presentations and screencasts, which will have this feature.\n\n‣ How is this better than Photo Booth?\n\n- Convenient access from the menu bar.\n- Toggle it via a keyboard shortcut.\n- Higher quality camera output.\n- Does not crop the camera output.\n- Minimalistic design with no window frame.\n- Takes photos without the countdown.\n- Photos are saved to the file system, not hidden inside the app.\n- The window can be made to always stay on top of other windows.\n- Can be accessed from the menu bar.\n- Capture and copy photo in a single action.\n- Save photo as lossless PNG file.\n- Includes camera metadata (EXIF) in the saved photo.\n- Made by an indie developer that listens to users.\n\n\n■ Privacy\n\nCamera Preview values your privacy. There's absolutely no tracking and the app cannot even connect to the internet due to macOS-enforced restrictions (no network entitlement).\n\n\n■ Support\n\nYou can contact me through the feedback button in the app.","bundleID":"com.sindresorhus.Camera-Preview","appiconURL":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/49/4c/25/494c25b2-530d-41eb-fca2-2d3eb95e7d2d/Placeholder.mill/1024x1024w.webp","formattedPrice":"$6.00","appUpdated":"2026-09-14T14:58:32.000Z","appReleased":"2023-05-19T07:00:00.000Z","version":"1.8.2","platforms":["mac"],"minOS":{"mac":"Requires macOS 26.0 or later."},"topIAPs":[],"languages":["EN"],"size":"4.2 MB","category":"Photo & Video","developerWebsite":"https://sindresorhus.com/camera-preview","screenshots":[{"platform":"mac","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/b8/05/2a/b8052af5-1123-bea0-630b-a48b5bf89e6a/e1be04b0-44a0-41c6-9a71-6a45e66914f2_screenshot2.png/2880x1800w.webp"},{"platform":"mac","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/67/11/e2/6711e20b-2b91-4a3b-5f06-7514e63a93b7/81252d7e-8d55-424f-8e07-a3dd4a7e649e_screenshot1.png/2880x1800w.webp"}]}
