{"appstoreID":1598799259,"title":"Cook: Cooklang recipe app","subtitle":"Plain-text recipe manager","developerName":"Alexey Dubovskoy","description":"Clip a recipe from any website or a photo of a cookbook page, cook it step by step with timers, and shop from an aisle-sorted list. Every recipe is a plain-text file you own, so nothing you save can ever be locked in.\n\nRECIPES THAT KEEP THEIR STRUCTURE\nMost apps flatten a recipe into a list and a wall of text. Cook uses Cooklang, an open-source plain-text format that keeps how a recipe really works:\n- Sections: dough, filling, and frosting stay distinct parts of one recipe\n- Recipe references: your pizza links to your pizza dough instead of copying it\n- Notes and metadata: oven temps, timing cues, source, tags. Nothing gets lost\n- Scaling: by servings, by multiplier, or around a single ingredient\n\nGET RECIPES IN WITHOUT RETYPING\n- Paste a link, or share a page from Safari, and Cook turns it into a clean recipe. Recipe-site imports are free and unlimited.\n- Photograph a cookbook page or add screenshots and Cook reads the ingredients and steps (Cook Cloud plan).\n- Save recipes from YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram videos (Cook Cloud plan).\n- New here? Start with a recipe pack picked for how you eat and cook.\n\nCOOK FROM YOUR PHONE\n- Cooking mode: a mise-en-place checklist, then one large-text step at a time. The screen stays awake.\n- Timers from any step, running in the background, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.\n\nSHOPPING LISTS THAT MATCH HOW YOU SHOP\nAdd any recipe, scaled amounts included, and Cook builds one list. View it by aisle or by recipe, define your own aisles in a text file, check things off, and send the list to whoever is shopping.\n\nYOUR WEEK, READY TO COOK\nMeal plans made in the free Cook Editor on your Mac, Windows, or Linux computer show up on your phone day by day, with one tap to add the whole week to your shopping list.\n\nYOUR RECIPES, YOUR FILES\nRecipes live in a folder as .cook text files. Keep them on this device, in iCloud Drive, or in Cook Cloud, which syncs across iPhone, iPad, and the desktop editor. Works offline. Open them in any text editor, back them up, move them anywhere, forever.\n\nFREE APP, OPTIONAL COOK CLOUD\nThe app is free. Cooklang, its parsers, and the desktop Cook Editor are open source. Cook Cloud subscriptions pay for the servers and the AI:\n- Cook Basic: sync across devices, photo and video imports, meal plans on your phone\n- Cook Pro: larger import allowances, plus CookBot, the meal-planning AI in the Cook Editor that drafts your week from your own recipes\nSubscriptions auto-renew until canceled and can be managed in your App Store settings.\n\nTerms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/\nPrivacy Policy: https://cook.md/privacy","bundleID":"org.cooklang.cooklangapp","appiconURL":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/0c/ad/51/0cad51c0-d947-56df-c5fd-f2a0d886a576/Placeholder.mill/1024x1024w.webp","formattedPrice":"Free","appUpdated":"2026-09-25T06:22:06.000Z","appReleased":"2021-12-18T08:00:00.000Z","version":"0.11.0","platforms":["iphone","ipad"],"minOS":{},"languages":["EN","FR","DE","PT","RU","ES"],"size":"48.7 MB","category":"Food & Drink","developerWebsite":"https://cooklang.org/app/","screenshots":[{"platform":"ipad","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/66/93/8d/66938d3b-69a4-b87e-deb0-31b6f0709b4a/0x0ss-6.png/2048x2732w.webp"},{"platform":"iphone","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/03/33/07/033307d4-53de-b0bd-b80b-076cdec755a4/1.png/1284x2778w.webp"},{"platform":"iphone","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/09/5e/09/095e0944-8e7f-cb0c-44dc-a11cde521c45/2.png/1284x2778w.webp"},{"platform":"iphone","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/60/e0/2d/60e02d24-de56-576e-bd3a-7502b00f9ae5/3.png/1284x2778w.webp"},{"platform":"iphone","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/63/fd/f7/63fdf743-2eee-fbfc-18ea-c697fd8a06f3/4.png/1284x2778w.webp"},{"platform":"iphone","url":"https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/10/8b/18/108b1894-043b-9fb5-d154-73b1d4755a5d/5.png/1284x2778w.webp"}]}
